Game recap: Central High School Football Team beats Waurika

MARLOW, Okla. - Michael Mays ran for two touchdowns and Kevin Harris added four as well as Central (Marlow, Okla.) bested Waurika (Okla.) 68-20 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Kade Taylor to Harris in the first quarter, the Bronchos led 48-6 at the half.

Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 42 at the start of the fourth.

A 35-point second quarter helped Central secure the big victory. CHS scored on a touchdown pass by Taylor to John Repp, a Harris touchdown run, a defensive touchdown, a touchdown run by Harris and a Mays touchdown run in the quarter.

When the two teams played each other last season, the Marlow school came away with a 50-22 victory.



The victory was a step in the right direction for the Bronchos, who were coming off a 54-30 defeat at the hands of Alex in its previous game. The loss was the third in a row for the Eagles. The win broke Central's two-game losing streak.

Central (7-2) goes up against Cyril in a B District 2 (8 Man) game matchup next week, while Waurika (1-8) locks horns with Oklahoma Christian Academy also in a B District 2 (8 Man) game.
