Softball Recap: Canton Takes a Loss

Canton was the 5-1 winner over Morton when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Little Giants fell just short of the Potters by a score of 4-3 on Thursday.

Allison Wheeler made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Makaylynne Correa, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Canton's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Morton, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-15.

Looking ahead, Canton will look to defend their home field on Friday against Illinois Valley Central at 7:00 p.m. As for Morton, they will venture away from home to take on Peoria Notre Dame at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
