Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Mcclatchy

McClatchy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Vacaville on Tuesday. The McClatchy Lions blew past the Vacaville Bulldogs 10-0. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 13-1 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2019.

Ari Silva made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Elias Ortega was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Antonio Barber was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

The victory was the third in a row for McClatchy, bringing their record for this year to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Vacaville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-2.

McClatchy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Bishop O'Dowd on the 28th. As for Vacaville, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Clayton Valley Charter on the 27th.
