Irwin County waltzed into their match on Tuesday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Echols County Wildcats a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 11 games by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Brynlee Brown, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Alberson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Irwin County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Echols County only posted an OBP of .200.

Irwin County's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Echols County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Irwin County is set to challenge their familiar foe Clinch County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 1.6, the Panthers 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Echols County will take on rival Brooks County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
