Soccer Recap: Normal University Takes a Loss

Normal University managed to keep up with Peoria Notre Dame until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Pioneers lost 4-1 to the Irish. While losing is never fun, Normal University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Peoria Notre Dame are ranked 29th).

Normal University dropped their record down to 10-10-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Peoria Notre Dame, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3-3 record this season.

Normal University and Peoria Notre Dame are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Pioneers will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Metamora at 6:30 p.m. on the 21st. As for Peoria Notre Dame, they will head out to take on Champaign Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
