Softball Recap: Summit Hilltoppers vs. Westfield Blue Devils

Summit suffered their closest defeat since May 14, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Westfield Blue Devils by a score of 7-5. The Hilltoppers haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Hannah Jacobson was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Jacobson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Chloe Jacobson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. She also put up two RBI, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Juliana Alicea, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Summit's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Westfield, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
