AAA Region VII recap October 8, 2013

Socastee was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating North Myrtle Beach. The Braves came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.

Adding to the longest winning streak in AAA Region VII this week, Socastee beat the Chiefs 38-28. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.

Wilson's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. TJ Frederick has thrown for 1,337 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Christian Bruce has 31 catches for 396 yards.

Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Wilson's Bruce goes up against St. James's Andrew Tom.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when the Tigers and St. James face off next week.

Next week's game between Wilson and Mark Fischer's team will feature an aerial matchup as Frederick tests his arm against Tom's defensive ability.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Georgetown takes on North Myrtle Beach. At the moment, the Bulldogs are in third, while Denver Cromer's team is in second.

The league will see a high scoring game when C.L. Eaddy's team and St. James face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Tigers comes in having scored 88 this season, while St. James has scored 122. Wilson scored 21 points last week as it fell to Myrtle Beach.

The Tigers made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,560 from 7,767. The improvement was largely due to a 33-21 victory over Wilson last week.
