Volleyball Game Preview: Springfield Tigers vs. Poland Seminary Bulldogs

The Springfield Tigers will face off against the Poland Seminary Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Springfield made easy work of Waterloo and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Springfield not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Waterloo between 16 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-16, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Poland Seminary beat Struthers 3-1 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 17-25, 25-21, 26-24.

Springfield better keep an eye on Avery Jakubovic. She was instrumental in Poland Seminary's win, getting 25 digs. Another player making a difference was Harper Vesey, who had 11 digs and two aces.

Springfield's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Poland Seminary, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

Springfield was able to grind out a solid win over Poland Seminary in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, winning 3-1. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
