Softball Recap: St. Bernard's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

St. Bernard had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Woodstock Academy Centaurs. This was a revenge game for the Saints: when they faced off against the Centaurs back in April, they had to take a 4-0 loss.

Not much got past Kaitlyn Scribner, who gave up just a hit to keep Woodstock Academy off the board. Scribner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aubree Nygaard, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Olivia Kane was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

St. Bernard now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Woodstock Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10-1.

Looking ahead, St. Bernard will head out to challenge Norwich RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Woodstock Academy, they will welcome Harvard Ellis Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Centaurs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 14.3 runs per game this season.
