Softball Recap: Hayesville Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Hayesville's offense. They lost 13-0 to the Swain County Maroon Devils on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Hayesville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Peck, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Lillie McClure also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Hayesville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Swain County, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

Hayesville will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Copper Basin at 5:00 p.m. on the 7th. As for Swain County, they have already played their next game, a 6-0 win against Tuscola on the 27th.
