Basketball Recap: Staples-Motley Takes a Loss

Staples-Motley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 75-38 loss at the hands of the Frazee Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Hornets are ranked 151st).

Staples-Motley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Frazee, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Staples-Motley will challenge Pelican Rapids at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Frazee, they will welcome Breckenridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Breckenridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Frazee likes a good challenge.
