Softball Recap: Hiland Hawks vs. Mansfield Christian Flames
Hiland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mansfield Christian Flames.
Makayla Beachy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits.
At the plate, Alissa Yoder made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Jalyn Immel was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.
Hiland's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Mansfield Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hiland will challenge Tuscarawas Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
