Softball Recap: Holton Wildcats vs. Sabetha Bluejays
In what's become a running theme this season, Holton gave their fans yet another huge win in Monday's second game. They blew past the Sabetha Bluejays 15-9. The victory was just what Holton needed coming off of a 15-0 defeat in their prior contest.
Tinley Wilson made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. Wilson has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive pitching appearances. Wilson was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Josie Barrow was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and three doubles. Katelyn Ingels was another key contributor, going 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs.
The win got Holton back to even at 7-7. As for Sabetha, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-3.
Holton will take on Nemaha Central at 4:30 p.m. in Monday's first game. Holton will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Sabetha, they will head out on the road to challenge Jefferson West at 4:30 p.m. in Monday's first game.
