West Shamokin is a perfect 10-0 against Purchase Line since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wolves will venture away from home to challenge the Red Dragons at 4:30 p.m. West Shamokin will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Thursday, West Shamokin earned a 9-5 win over Marion Center.

JJ Cessna made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Cessna wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Luke McCullough, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Purchase Line came up short against River Valley on Friday and fell 4-1.

Like West Shamokin, Purchase Line also got a great game from a two-way player: Christian Moyer. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. Moyer was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

West Shamokin's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Purchase Line, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

West Shamokin took their victory against Purchase Line in their previous meeting on April 1st by a conclusive 14-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
