Softball Game Preview: Adams Cougars vs. Conrad Chargers

The Adams Cougars will be taking part in a tournament against the Conrad Chargers at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Adams is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 17-5 to Naaman Forest.

Ellie McAnally and Jennifer Barraza stepped up to the plate in a big way. McAnally went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Barraza scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Natalia Leon was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Conrad won against Seagoville last Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Conrad sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over Adamson. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Adams might still be hurting after the 23-9 defeat they got from Conrad in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can Adams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
