Baseball Game Preview: Neuse Charter Cougars vs. Eastern Wayne Warriors

The Neuse Charter Cougars will take on the Eastern Wayne Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Monday just wasn't the day for Neuse Charter's offense. They lost 19-0 to East Wake Academy on Monday.

Neuse Charter saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Phillips, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Eastern Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against East Carteret, falling 29-0.

Neuse Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Eastern Wayne, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.

Neuse Charter suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Eastern Wayne in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Neuse Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
