Softball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bowie last Tuesday, Jefferson came back down to earth. The Jefferson Silver Foxes took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coronado Thunderbirds on Thursday. The Silver Foxes have struggled against the Thunderbirds recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Gianna Ruiz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabel Sealey, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Coronado, their record now sits at 2-5.

Looking ahead, Jefferson will challenge San Elizario at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Coronado, they will face off against Riverside at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday.
