Monticello won the last time they faced Chisago Lakes Area and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Magic came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 7-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Magic.

Carson Deibele spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brock Holthaus, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Easton Peters also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Monticello's record is now 11-4. As for Chisago Lakes Area, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Monticello is set to take on their familiar foe North Branch at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Magic's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while the Vikings have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Chisago Lakes Area will face off against rival Cambridge-Isanti at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
