Volleyball Recap: Polson Triumphs

Polson won the last time they faced Bigfork, and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Polson Pirates won by a set and slipped past the Bigfork Vikings & Valkyries 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (111-107) Polson actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 23-25, 14-25, 25-20, 17-15.

Mckenna Corley paced Polson's offense, picking up 18 kills. Corley got some help from Rylee Taylor-Jefferson and her 40 assists. Embree Bird controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Polson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9-2 record this season. As for Bigfork, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-13.

Polson will host Ronan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bigfork does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
