Volleyball Recap: Upland Find Success

Upland posted their closest victory since September 30, 2024 on Monday. They won by a set and slipped past the Citrus Valley Blackhawks 3-2.

Upland was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-14, 22-25, 25-19, 15-8.

Citrus Valley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Elise Marchall, who had 12 digs and two aces, and Colette Parada, who had 12 digs, eight kills, and one block. That block was Parada's first of the season.

Upland now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Citrus Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Upland will venture away from home to square off against Polytechnic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Citrus Valley, they will face off against Palm Desert at 5:00 p.m. on September 3.
