Soccer Recap: Antelope Valley Falls Short of Grace in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Antelope Valley can now relate to. They fell just short of the Grace Lancers by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Antelopes couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Rubi Mendoza, which was the first she's scored this season.

Antelope Valley's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Grace, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season.

Antelope Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grace, they have already played their next game, a 4-1 victory against Fontana on the 18th.
