Volleyball Recap: Dixie Heights Comes Up Short

Dixie Heights came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds, falling 3-0. The Colonels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thoroughbreds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Dixie Heights was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 25-17.

Dixie Heights has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Newport Central Catholic, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-15.

As of now, neither Dixie Heights nor the Thoroughbreds have any future games scheduled.
