Recap: Whitehall Railroaders vs. Granville Golden Horde

The Whitehall Railroaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Granville 29-23. That's two games in a row now that Whitehall has lost by exactly six points.

Granville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Melissa Beaver led the charge by scoring ten points along with seven rebounds. Beaver set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Ella Olsen was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 13 rebounds and five blocks.

Whitehall's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.2 points per game. As for Granville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Whitehall will be playing at home against Fort Ann at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Granville, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake George at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Lake George focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday.
