Volleyball Recap: Celebration Has No Trouble Against Poinciana Christian Preparatory

Celebration made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Poinciana Christian Preparatory, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Storm blew past the Eagles 3-0 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Storm: when they faced off against the Eagles last Monday, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-19, 26-24.

Daniel Santiago paced Celebration's offense, picking up 17 kills. Santiago got some help from Oliver Binet and his 28 assists. Finally, Marius Petrikas kept Celebration's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Celebration pushed their record up to 8-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Poinciana Christian Preparatory, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-3.

Celebration will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Academy of Central Florida National at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Poinciana Christian Preparatory, they will welcome Victory Charter School at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
