Preview: Clewiston Tigers vs. East Lee County Jaguars
The Clewiston Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the East Lee County Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Clewiston has four straight wins, East Lee County has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Clewiston didn't even let Avon Park onto the board and left with a 2-0 win. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Clewiston has scored all year.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 68-3, which was the final score in East Lee County's tilt against Gulf Coast on Friday. While losing is never fun, East Lee County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 544th, while Gulf Coast is ranked 72nd).
Clewiston's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for East Lee County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Clewiston didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against East Lee County in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 37-31 win. Will Clewiston repeat their success, or does East Lee County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
