Softball Recap: Edinburg North Takes a Loss

Edinburg North and San Benito squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Edinburg North had to settle for second. They came up short against the Greyhounds, falling 14-6. The Cougars have struggled against the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Madison Guerra was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Caylee Ramirez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Edinburg North's defeat dropped their record down to 23-9-1. As for San Benito, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11-1 record this season.

Edinburg North does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for San Benito, they will square off against East Central on Saturday.
