Basketball Recap: Westminster Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against King last Saturday, Westminster Academy came back down to earth. The Lions came up short against the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders on Saturday, falling 79-58. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Clarence Westbrook Jr. was his usual excellent self, shooting 64% from the field en route to 33 points along with five assists and five steals for St. Thomas Aquinas. Those 33 points gave Westbrook Jr. a new career-high. Drake (DJ) Sandi was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 13 assists.

Westminster Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Looking ahead, Westminster Academy will challenge Cardinal Gibbons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Chiefs have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they will take on Bell Creek Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
