Soccer Game Preview: Shelby vs. East Gaston

The Shelby Golden Lions will take on the East Gaston Warriors on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Shelby comes in on 22 and East Gaston on three.

Shelby is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Maiden get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Considering Shelby have won ten matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, East Gaston's game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They blew past Salisbury 4-1. East Gaston are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the eighth contest they've won by 3+ goals this season.

Shelby pushed their record up to 22-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 61 goals over those 12 games. As for East Gaston, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6-2.
