Softball Game Preview: Vista Panthers vs. Oceanside Pirates

Vista is 0-10 against Oceanside since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pirates at 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Vista didn't have quite enough to beat San Dieguito Academy and fell 8-7. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Oceanside waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Ravens as they made off with an 11-5 win.

Anaiah Filo and Hannah Narcy did most of the damage at the plate: Filo went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Narcy went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Meliah Poumele-Flores, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Oceanside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in six consecutive games.

Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Oceanside, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
