Baseball Game Preview: Valley Lutheran Chargers vs. Laker Lakers

The Valley Lutheran Chargers will head out on the road to take on the Laker Lakers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Valley Lutheran's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Laker's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Valley Lutheran didn't have quite enough to beat Ithaca and fell 3-2. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Valley Lutheran saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Grimpo, who went 1-for-5 with one stolen base.

Garber hit Laker with a eight-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lakers came up short against the Dukes, falling 13-2. The Lakers have struggled against the Dukes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Laker's loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1. As for Valley Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Valley Lutheran skirted past Laker 5-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
