Volleyball Recap: Burton Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Burton came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Snook Bluejays with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bluejays, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Burton was: they took every set by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-5, 25-7.

Burton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Adison Harmel led the charge by getting six aces and four digs. Harmel has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Paige Fritsch, who had 17 digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Burton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in four consecutive contests.

Burton's win bumped their record up to 31-9. As for Snook, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, Burton and Snook will both be playing Mumford the next time they take the court. The Bluejays will head out to face the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Panthers will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
