Softball Recap: Colony Wins Going Away Against Covina

Colony not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10, 2024. They were the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over the Covina Colts. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

Aaliyah Garcia(Whittier College) made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gisella De Los Santos(2025), who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Jaden Malaga(2027) was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Covina, they moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colony will challenge Patriot at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Covina, they will take on Santiago in a tournament on Saturday.
