Basketball Recap: Wapato Comes Up Short

Wapato lost against Royal back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wapato Wolves fell 80-70 to the Royal Knights. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Knights are ranked tenth).

This is the second loss in a row for Wapato and nudges their season record down to 10-6. As for Royal, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-1.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Wahluke the next time they take the court. Royal will host Wahluke at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Wapato will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
