Recap: Ninety Six Wildcats vs. Whitmire Wolverines
The Ninety Six Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Whitmire 60-12 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Ninety Six has managed all season.
It was another big night for Janiyah Squire, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Ninety Six's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Hart, who scored six points along with eight steals and six assists.
Ninety Six's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Whitmire, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Ninety Six will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Thornwell at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Whitmire and Mid-Carolina will face off at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The timing is sure in Mid-Carolina's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Whitmire has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
