Recap: Bishop Ryan Lions vs. Westhope/Newburg Sioux
The Bishop Ryan Lions won the last time they faced the Westhope/Newburg Sioux, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Bishop Ryan narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Westhope/Newburg 39-37.
Westhope/Newburg's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kimberly Tabarez, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marleigh Henry, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Bishop Ryan is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season. As for Westhope/Newburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Bishop Ryan is on the road again on Thursday and plays Surrey at 3:00 p.m. on February 8th. Surrey will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Bishop Ryan surely won't give up without a fight. Westhope/Newburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
