Basketball Recap: Wilson Comes Up Short

If Wilson was riding high fresh off their 45-25 takedown of Trinity Leadership on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wilson Wildcats fell just short of the Wilmer-Hutchins Eagles by a score of 44-41 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Wilson still got an impressive performance from Mia Yonker, who went 5 of 12 en route to 14 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Howie, who posted eight points.

Wilson's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Wilmer-Hutchins, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Wilson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-7 victory against Spruce on the 3rd. As for Wilmer-Hutchins, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-28 win against South Oak Cliff on the 27th.
