Richardson and Pearce are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but likely not for long. The Richardson Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Pearce Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Richardson has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Things were looking good for Richardson after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 11-7 to Pearce. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Mustangs since on Monday.

For Pearce's part, Taylor Kesler and Ashlyn Yarbrough did most of the damage at the plate: Kesler went 1-for-5 with one home run and three RBI, while Yarbrough scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Kesler a new career-high in RBI. Alexa Falk was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Richardson's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-12. As for Pearce, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-11-1.
