Recap: Heritage Patriots vs. Paloma Valley Wildcats
It was a good run, but the Heritage Patriots unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 72-65 to Paloma Valley. Heritage was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Paloma Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Heritage lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aaron Contreras. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Viray, who scored 11 points.
Heritage's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-13. As for Paloma Valley, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Heritage will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Lakeside at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. One thing working in Lakeside's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups. As for Paloma Valley, they will be playing at home against Canyon Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Canyon Springs is ranked 663rd, while Paloma Valley is ranked 665th).
