Basketball Game Preview: El Dorado Wildcats vs. Trinity Celtics

The El Dorado Wildcats will challenge the Trinity Celtics at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

El Dorado is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight games dating back to last season on Tuesday. They fell 82-71 to Cheney.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jaxon Sheffler, who shot 86% from the field to rack up 12 points. Jase Peffly was another key player, going 6-for-9 on his way to 15 points.

Meanwhile, Trinity didn't have quite enough to beat Wellington on Tuesday and fell 43-40. The Celtics have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for El Dorado, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

El Dorado took their win against Trinity in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 64-44 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
