Volleyball Recap: Chapel Hill Starts Season with Win Against Ayden - Grifton

Chapel Hill took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Ayden - Grifton Chargers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since September 7, 2024.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (109-104) Chapel Hill actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 26-24, 20-25, 18-25, 25-23, 15-12.

Keilani Ledaja-Brewer paced Chapel Hill's offense, picking up 23 kills. Ledaja-Brewer got some help from Leila Tooloee and her 22 assists. Ledaja-Brewer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Chapel Hill will host Pinecrest at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ayden - Grifton, they will be taking part in a tournament against East Mecklenburg at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
