Basketball Recap: Melbourne Takes a Loss

Melbourne suffered their biggest loss since November 23, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 66-46 to the Mountain View Yellowjackets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bearkatz have suffered against the Yellowjackets since March 3, 2018.

Melbourne's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 14-3. As for Mountain View, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Melbourne will head out to challenge Flippin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Melbourne is facing Flippin at the right time seeing as Flippin is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Mountain View, they will be playing at home against Bergman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Mountain View has won six straight at home, while Bergman won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
