Football Recap: Manny Connerly's Menacing Defense Leads Bogue Chitto over Mount Olive

Bogue Chitto extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Jayden Poole. The Bobcats strolled past the Mount Olive Pirates with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-12 with plenty of help from Poole, who rushed for 148 yards and two scores. He has become a key player for Bogue Chitto: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.

Bogue Chitto didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Manny Connerly, Paxton Waldrop, and Braylon Rancifer picked up one apiece. Rancifer also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 23. Kayson Magee was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks and making nine total tackles.

Bogue Chitto's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Mount Olive, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Bogue Chitto didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-10 win against West Lincoln on the 24th. As for Mount Olive, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 58-52 defeat against Salem on the 24th.
