Volleyball Recap: Madonna Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

The Madonna Blue Dons earned a 2-0 victory over the St. Marys Blue Devils on Saturday.

Madonna never let St. Marys on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18.

St. Marys lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Alyssa Winland, who had ten digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Renner, who had 15 assists and seven digs.

Madonna has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7-1 record this season. As for St. Marys, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8-1.

Looking ahead, Madonna will head out on the road to take on Toronto at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Marys, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ritchie County at 6:00 p.m.
