Recap: Harvester Christian Academy Hawks vs. Central Christian Crusaders

The Harvester Christian Academy Hawks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They snuck past Central Christian with a 75-69 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Harvester Christian Academy was led to victory by Bryson Jatta and Greg Stoeckig. Jatta scored 26 points, while Stoeckig scored 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stoeckig has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Ruffin, who scored nine points.

Central Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rocky Steidinger, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Steidinger is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Landon Brooking was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Harvester Christian Academy's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points per game. As for Central Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harvester Christian Academy will face off against Central Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Central Christian will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Trinity Christian School of Griffin at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd.
