Volleyball Recap: Batesburg-Leesville Comes Up Short

The Batesburg-Leesville Panthers didn't have quite enough to beat the Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Batesburg-Leesville started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-16, 25-16.

Ella Cook paced Batesburg-Leesville's offense, picking up nine kills. Cook got some help from Molly Price and her 14 assists. McKenzie Dozier controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Batesburg-Leesville's loss dropped their record down to 7-6-1. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-3.

Batesburg-Leesville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Fox Creek on the 26th. Legion Collegiate Academy has also already played their next match (against Pickens), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
