Football Recap: Stanton Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Stanton lost to Sandalwood last Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Blue Devils skirted past the Saints 14-12. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Stanton can attribute much of their success to Aiyanna Smiley, who threw for 106 yards and a pair of TDs. That's the most passing yards Smiley has posted since back in February.

Another reason for the win was Stanton's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Lyric Cromity was the leader with two.

Although Sandalwood took the loss, they still got scores from Kirsten Gudmalin and Kayla Dobson.

Stanton pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.5 points on average over those games. As for Sandalwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Stanton has already played their next matchup, a 6-0 loss against Mandarin on the 2nd. As for Sandalwood, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-7 defeat against Florida State University High School on the 4th.
