With a playoff win on the line, Northview Academy rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 55-48 victory over the Jackson South Side Hawks. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won five matches in a row.

Despite the loss, Jackson South Side still got an impressive performance from Jaidynn Askins, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Askins is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last 24 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Newble, who posted nine points.

Northview Academy's victory bumped their record up to 32-4. As for Jackson South Side, they moved to 28-3 with that loss, which also ended their 22-game winning streak.

Northview Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-51 win against Dyersburg on the 14th. Jackson South Side does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
