The Daniel Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 57-27 victory over the Midland Adventist Academy Mustangs. The Lions pushed the score to 50-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs cut but never quite recovered from.

The Daniel Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Maldinado out in front who posted 17 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Rose, who earned 11 points and seven steals.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. The Daniel Academy will square off against Veritas Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Midland Adventist Academy, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against St. Vincent de Paul Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
