Basketball Recap: Sandhills Valley Extends Winning Streak to Six

Sandhills Valley came tearing into Thursday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 47-40 victory over the Sandhills/Thedford Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 47-37 last Tuesday.

Sandhills Valley had a senior duo take command as Leyton Connell went 7 of 17 on his way to 18 points along with six boards and three steals and Kyle Kramer dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Kramer has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 22 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Daniel Zuniga, who posted three points.

Sandhills Valley's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Sandhills/Thedford, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Sandhills Valley will be taking part in a tournament against Twin Loup at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Twin Loup will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Sandhills Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sandhills/Thedford, they will take on South Loup in a tournament on Saturday.
