Volleyball Recap: La Veta Redhawks vs. Hoehne Farmers
La Veta extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 3-0 to the Hoehne Farmers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Redhawks have suffered against the Farmers since August 24, 2021.
Jaiden Goemmer paced La Veta's offense, picking up eight kills. Goemmer got some help from Bryanna Chamberlain and her 12 assists. Jazlynn Valdez controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
As for Hoehne, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2. The game marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.
Hoehne can attribute much of their success to Isabella Chacon, who had seven digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Chacon a new career-high.
Looking ahead, La Veta will be playing at home against Manzanola at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Redhawks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Hoehne, they have already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Crowley County on the 28th.
